Why did Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson break up? Do you think she is better matched with Colin Jost?

My understanding in regards to the Ryan Reynolds/Scarlett Johansson divorce was that there were multiple factors involved. One of those factors was that since both were highly successful young performers they practically never saw each other, and Scarlett was having a hard time dealing with it.

Another reason I’ve heard bandied about, is that Ryan was more old school monogamous, whereas Scarlett is more of a free spirit, and preferred a polyamorous lifestyle, and Ryan couldn’t handle it.

I definitely think Blake Lively is a much better fit for Ryan Reynolds than Scarlett ever was. The two seem just give off this vibe of being comfortable with each other. Like a pair of warm, fuzzy, cozy old socks. You just know they keep each others feet warm in the winter. Or… you know… something much less stupid than what I just said.

On the other hand, I honestly don’t think her relationship with Colin Jost will last. Please note, since Scarlett is now pregnant with their first child, I don’t think they will be breaking up anytime soon, but I also don’t believe this will be a true love that will last a lifetime. I doubt they will be together more than a decade if that.

I also don’t believe any relationship problems will come from Jost himself. From what I’ve heard, Colin is working extra hard at making the relationship work because he doesn’t want to lose her.

In my mind, Colin Jost is the nerdy kid who managed to get the hottest girl in school to fall in love with him, so he’s kissing her ass to keep her. I could easily see Scarlett getting bored, or losing respect for Colin because of how obsequious he is, but for now I think she’s enjoying the novelty of being in a relationship with a man who more or less has a 9–5, and is in no way in competition with her for the spotlight.

Colin Jost may be a celebrity, but he’s a celebrity of much lower status than she is. She’s movies. He’s television. She’s a star. He… isn’t even close. He might as well be a local celebrity for as little as his celebrity status matters. He could become a used car salesman and his place in the relationship wouldn’t even shift a smidge.

Colin will be there when she needs him, and she can always take a big production on another continent when she doesn’t want him hanging off of her. He’ll be the perfect on-call husband for her. And if she wants male company while she’s working, Colin will probably grin and bear it while he’s changing diapers at home. It’s win-win for Scarlett. The only cost will be Colin Jost’s self-respect and it will take years to wear him down enough to actually say anything to her. Right now, I imagine, he’ll keep his face happily buried in Scarlett’s crotch and do exactly what she tells him.

Colin Jost asking himself how the hell he got there in the first place. Scarlett Johansson asking herself how the hell he got there.
