Which bad actor or actress was successfully rehabilitated into a good one?

Deera

Jessica Lange.

She started out as a model, and her beauty helped her land her debut film role in the 1976 remake of King Kong. The movie received mixed reviews, but Lange’s performance was widely panned, and rightly so. She was terrible; couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag.

Lange took the criticism seriously. She spent the next three years undergoing intensive drama training, determined to become a better actor.

It worked. Today she is one of our most esteemed actors — a six-time Oscar nominee (two wins), 15-time Golden Globe nominee (five wins), nine-time Emmy nominee (three wins), and one of only 24 actors to win the coveted “Triple Crown of Acting” — an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Tony.

Yeah, man — Jessica Lange definitely turned it around.
