Did the director of Basic Instinct tell Sharon Stone to “hand him her underpants” before filming the famous leg-crossing scene?

Original question: “Did the director of Basic Instinct tell Sharon Stone to “hand him her underpants” before filming the famous leg-crossing scene?” She says he did. He says he didn’t. She did the scene without underpants. If she knew she was going to do the scene, and knew she didn’t have underpants, she, of course, was not coerced in doing it. Often actresses refuse to do certain intimate or physically revealing scenes. The directors just work around those demands.

In Sharon Stone’s case, Paul Verhoeven says her claim never happened. And despite Stone’s memoir saying she was told no frontal nudity of her would appear in the film. That’s ridiculous! She saw the cameras when she was doing the scene in front of her and she’s a veteran actress. She knows exactly what the camera sees. If she wasn’t aware of a frontal scene, then why were the cameras in front of her?

Naw, none of her allegations make sense. None. I go with Verhoeven, the director. She didn’t wear underpants and wanted to do the scene and knew her private area would be revealed.

Just so no one decides I don’t like Sharon Stone, that isn’t true. I’m a fan and enjoy her pictures and have always enjoyed them. But I also know that when actors and actresses get older, they have regrets about some of the things they did earlier in life. And they try to find an excuse to justify them or try to cover them up. That’s human nature for some.
