The one thing that most people don’t know about filming a movie and/or even most television productions, is that it involves very long hours. The most intricate and time consuming part of filming is setting up the cameras and lighting for a scene and so while the crew are doing that, the actors and actresses have to sit around and wait until their turn comes for them to act on screen and they have to be ready to switch on their A game for the cameras regardless of their state of mind and body. What we see on screen is a result of endless hours of filming and editing to make it seem as though it’s actually been done in a matter of a few hours when it’s actually the result of hours and hours of work.
The endless wait can get exhausting for some people so they turn to each other for company and some of them naturally get carried away with spending too much time together and end up in affairs and relationships. Sometimes, the type of movies they are acting in also plays a part in their interactions especially when it’s a romance movie. Most unmarried actors/actresses who get together after a movie usually do so after acting in a romantic movie together.
A big part of the equation is actually on the respective actor/actress and how strong they are, not just mentally but emotionally. They could be doing the most intense sex scenes together but if they are already married and they are truly and strongly committed to their spouses, then not even the strongest attractions can distract them. There are plenty of romantic movies where the actor and actress don’t end up falling in love in real life and/or having affairs while being married to other people. Whether they are really strong in their convictions to their spouses or whether the movies aren’t as good, it’s actually up for debate but I’d like to think that there are some married people who do still take their vows very seriously.
In a sense, I also believe that we audiences have a part to play in the whole thing. We were ecstatic when Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams fell in love while filming The Notebook (2004) as they did a beautiful movie together. However, they were both single and young so we were all happy for them.
It was a different matter altogether when Brangelina came about as they were both still married to other people when they got together but yet the world celebrated them anyway. The paparazzi couldn’t get enough of them, which is their job but we the audiences need not indulge it, which we did, which in turn, encouraged them and made it seem that what they were doing was perfectly fine. They might have very well really fallen in love with each other but going nuts about Brangelina only serves to actually approve of how they got together in the first place.
This is also the reason why very few actors/ actresses have relationships/marry outside of the profession because only someone else in the industry could really understand the complexities and nuances of working in the profession.
It is also the same reason why most of the actual couples get together are from the industry itself. They don’t work normal 9 to 5 hours and when they do work, their time off is limited and they don’t get to spend time with their families the way other families usually do. It’s very difficult for someone outside of the industry to understand that. It’s also the same reason why many music artistes don’t have relationships with people outside their industry.
