Probably because she wasn’t taken seriously. She was seen as a sexy dumb blonde. She and Jayne Mansfield were MUCH smarter than people gave them credit for. It was said that she had a very high IQ (168, though unproven). Jayne Mansfield was an accomplished violinist with an IQ of 149! Regardless of that, neither of these women were taken seriously because of their beauty, their bodies, and possibly their sexual exploits. Very sad, really.
